What are you supposed to do with your life?

For those who will rather listen

Disclaimer: I am not against life. I am not against money. I do not endorse the show of renouncement for all renouncement is inwardly. Anyone who is trying to sell you the idea of renouncement is not trustworthy. Caution is recommended.

You are born with a personal code. You are supposed to decode it.

We are here to perform our soul’s innermost code. We don’t need to resist it. We need to find out what the code is.

When you live your life like you will only do the natural thing/whatever comes easily to you, you realise this: your nature is not your destiny. God is your destiny.

Alignment is whatever comes easily to you. It means you don’t have to try too hard to get things done. You are in a state of bliss perpetually during your time working/resting. You do not think about work-life balance. Because you lose the distinction to the all-encompassing peace within.

So whatever feels like an “out-of-alignment” thing for you is a move away from God. That’s why you must withdraw from such endeavours.

It only makes sense that my last post was about peace. I wasn’t sure if I was on the right track. That took me three years to find out.

I found out there are no wrong or right answers. You find out the answers as you walk.

The path makes itself as you walk on it.

Osho said the only mistake is to be paralysed. I know Visa has done better work than I can ever do. But there is a space for me.

Visa is not GenZ. Internet kid? Sure. Not GenZ. Also it makes no sense trying to give advice to someone more experienced/knowledgeable/aware than you are. They have had their share of challenges. Of course they can learn from you. But that’s not your business. Your business is with people who are not as conscious/aware as you are. Because they can appreciate what you bring to the table.

Only ambitious folks look up to people “ahead of them” for advice. Not that there’s not enough good advice. More like our attention is hooked to all the bad advice in the world. Think of this blog post as a train that is taking you from being attached to bad advice to finding good advice/self-knowledge for yourself. (1)

How do we even know when we have found good advice or not? What if this The Awakened Youth guy is fooling us? I mean that’s up to your discernment. If I say I am not fooling you, that’s exactly the kind of thing I’d say if I was indeed fooling you lol.

I am just inviting you to read. It’s upto you how you take it. Not that if you follow it with sincerity you won’t find the right direction.

Why do we do our work?

There is a great humility in accepting limitations of one’s work/identity or impact. We do not work for vanity. We work for love.

Never let someone call you unoriginal because they do not know what they are talking about.

What makes someone’s/my perspective unique is I have never taken anyone’s word for exactly what it is. There are downsides to this. You can end up in a dustbin this way.

That’s why the right amount of reverence and irreverence has to be balanced. Practice reverence where irreverence is your natural reaction. Practice irreverence where reverence is your natural reaction.

Something something respond instead of reacting.

Go beyond materialism.

The truth is we are something beyond our body and mind. We are a witness to everything that goes on our lives. If you walk even a step beyond your body and mind, consider that you have unlocked the door to God’s kingdom. It is a matter of time when you will get there. You don’t have to do anything.

When I say that to people they translate it into ‘whatever I am doing is right.’ That can’t be more wrong. I said ‘you don’t have to do anything.’ That means whatever you are doing you must stop doing. Because if you are doing it, you are doing it wrong.

When I say “you” I am referring to your (false) sense of self. You came here with a certain mindset. You want to achieve something. I am saying give it all up. Only strive for God, which is beyond your body and mind, and is YOU anyway.

You are not your body. You are not your mind. When you give up these petty desires you witness a detachment from your experience. That is the beginning of liberation.

Scientific rigor is non-negotiable.

The path of dharma is extremely scientific. I am just here to play that bridge between God and machine. Taking of course the God’s side, only to connect it back with your life: your nature, your side.

This is what a teacher does. He guides you. You have to walk on the path yourself. I can’t walk on it for you. I can show you light where you think the darkness is. I am a friend in need. Not a friend who is eager to spoon-feed you or wants you to be spoon-fed.

How do I know MY direction is right?

I do not intend to gain power from my writing. I promise to never hold a political position in my life.

Because I find meaning in my work it makes me feel honored to be able to do it. I look forward to it every day. This is my purpose. (2)

What should you do now?

The method of negation (neti neti) is so essential when you are trying to find your true calling. You have to be bold enough to experiment. There is risk at every step. That’s why you must make mistakes smartly. (3)

Footnotes:

1. Ambition is knowing what you want out of life. If you do not care about that, you are not ambitious.

2. Purpose is not what you think it is. You think purpose is making your parents happy. Please know that the idea is instilled in your brain by your parents/peers only. So I will not be entertaining this as an excuse to not do what you are most called for.

3. Making mistakes smartly means that you know how to learn new stuff without causing damage to your relationships with other people. If you must make a mistake, make sure the damage is repairable and/or small.
